Eindhoven, The Netherlands
Rebekka Evers was born in 1994 and studied at Design Academy Eindhoven in the Man & Activity department. During her studies she did an internship at Studio Wieki Somers in Rotterdam and she followed Reboot, a minor about colour, image and writing. The behaviour of colour, elementary aspects of graphic design, and making connections from the old towards new, formed the base of this course.
Subsequently, she participated the Kikkerland x AS Adventure Design Challenge and presented Stick It. Her design received the title academic winner and finally brought her to New York during NYCxDESIGN.
In June 2018 she graduated with her two projects The Hidden Colour of Oak and Colour Blinds. Both projects involve a translation within the theme of colour into an application that fit best to the subject. The Hidden Colour of Oak translates colour as consequence of nature in three pieces of furniture, while Colour Blinds focusses on three fundamental properties of colour in context, executed in several woven panels.
Extremely meticulous, analytical, hands-on mentality, able to work independently, and having a great sense of responsibility. The interests that she developed during her studies in design are for colour and elementary aspects in, especially graphic design. Various materials and associated techniques also make her curious. Intuition and a methodical way of working ensure a strong balance in her creative process and her spatial insight contributes to translating into various applications.
